Kaltura Capture
Kaltura Capture is a centralized online video screen recording tool that is included in Canvas.
Easily add video content to your teaching to boost student engagement, while freeing up valuable file storage space in your Canvas course.
Login
- Access Kaltura Capture by navigating to your Canvas Dashboard and clicking on My Media, located in the left-hand menu.
- My Media contains all your Kaltura Content. From within your course shell, you can navigate to Media specifically for your course or embed Kaltura content using the plugin in the rich content editor of any page.

- Create a Playlist: Create a Playlist of videos using your course Media Gallery. Playlists are a great tool for organizing your content.

Why Use Kaltura Capture?
- When created, Kaltura Capture videos are automatically housed in the My Media tab in Canvas: your private collection of videos with unlimited storage.
- Easily embed quizzes within Kaltura Capture videos so your students can self-evaluate their learning.
- Easily associate closed caption files with videos for accessible learning.
- Create a course media gallery (a YouTube-like channel) that you and your students can use to upload video, images, and audio. Take it a step further and allow comments to create a social experience!
- Give students the option to create and upload videos within Canvas to enhance discussion responses and submit assignments.
- Use video analytics to measure student engagement.
