Proposal Guidelines

Proposal submissions are welcome from all members of the Ontario Tech community who are interested in presenting to a multidisciplinary audience about teaching and learning in higher education. This includes instructors, staff, and graduate students.

Please note that all confirmed presenters will be required to register for the Conference. More information will be communicated directly when registration opens.

We have identified several categories for proposal submissions within the general theme of Teaching for Tomorrow.

Note: Proposal submissions may be either scholarship-related, or reflect teaching practices.

  • Flexibility and adaptility (e.g. Universal Design for Learning)
  • Building self-regulation and resilience skills in students
  • Rethinking assessment
  • Building skills beyond the classroom (e.g. competency-based curriculum)

While we recommend that presentation topics fit within the above categories, you may suggest a category of your own when submitting your proposal.

  • Oral Presentation: 20 minutes to present, 5 minutes for audience questions
  • Poster Presentation: Engage with Conference attendees during a 60-minute interactive poster session.

Note: Conference presentations of either format will take place in person.

  • Proposals will be accepted until Friday January 10, 2025.
  • All accepted proposals must be accessible and AODA-compliant
  • When submitting your proposal, you must indicate the format of your presentation (oral or poster presentation)
